Don’t get me wrong!, I appreciate the good football, and I recognize that Barcelona are probably the best team passing the ball, even in pressure!. But I find the label of “ the best team in the world” a bit too much!. For me, the Spanish league “ La Liga” is not strong enough!, the opposition at times does seem to be scare of facing Barca!, and is quite rare to see a team putting pressure on them, and cutting the pace of their game!, aside from Hercules who manage to stunt everyone with their 2-0 win at the Camp Nou last year on Septiember 11th.
Another clear example is the approach that took Manuel Preciado, when Real Sporting Gijon played Barcelona in El Molinón Stadium on February 12th, ,for many it was a gamble, but if you consider that on their previous encounter it took Barca 49 minutes to open the score, with the only goal of the game, then it is clear that it’s not luck!, it a combination of playing with no fear, concentration, an playing every ball as if the world depend on it!.
Anyway, it was good to see that all this theory actually happening when Arsenal played them in the first leg of the Round of 16. They actually got trampled, and knocked down over for 70 minutes!, but at the end manage to pass them!. Still, I would expect a completely different match on the second leg!...
